What's the cost?
During your initial consultation, we will record your medical history and assess whether this treatment is suitable for you. We will carry out any preparations needed to begin the treatment on the wart or verruca. If you wish to proceed after this, the treatment will begin.

£35. The first treatment will cost
£75
and subsequent appointments, (if required),
£65. Treatments
include the application of 1 vial of Verrutop, (one vial contains enough solution to apply to 2-3 medium-sized warts or verrucae).
You will need to return to the clinic for a follow-up appointment every 10-14 days. These appointments will cost £65, which includes the application of one vial of Verrutop.
For patients with clusters of verrucas, it may be necessary for additional vials to be used, each additional vial will cost £25. The podiatrist will advise you of any additional costs at the time of your initial consultation.

Verrutop is a recently developed medication utilised to treat verrucae and warts. It contains Nitrizinc complex that is applied directly to the affected area.
Verrutop functions by drying out and desiccating the lesions, facilitating cell death. This process helps reduce and typically eliminate the verrucae, leading to its subsequent removal. .
The Podiatrist will begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment of the lesion, which includes visually examining it and gathering social, medical and occupational history.
if Verrutop is deemed the most appropriate treatment , the podiatrist will proceed with the therapy. Initially, any hard skin covering the verrucae will be gently reduced using a scalpel . although this process is typically painless, occasionally bleeding may occur , which is normal. Following the scalpel reduction, Verrutop will be applied multiple times and allowed to dry. This application is generally painless, but some individuals might experience a mild stinging or burning sensation that typically subsides on the same day.
individuals seeking complete removal of those smaller verrucae or warts , especially warts located around the nail area, or those commonly found on the tops of toes and feet are typically well suited for treatment with Verrutop. This treatment is also ideal for patients with a particularly low pain threshold and can be safely used on children from 6 years old and upwards.
The length of a Verrutop appointment can vary depending on several factors, including the specific needs of the individual and the complexity of the case.
Typically, a Verrutop appointment can range from 15 to 30 minutes. During this time, the podiatrist will assess the conditio, perform any necessary preparatio, such as reducing the hard skin before applying the Verrutop solution.
The number of Verrutop treatments required can vary depending on several factors, including the size, location and severity of the verrucae or wart. As well as individual response to the treatment. In many cases 3-6 treatments are required, with an interval of 10-14 days between each treatment. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan and attend all scheduled appointments to maximise the effectiveness of Verrutop.
Verrutop treatment is generally well tolerated and not considered painful. However, some patients may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation at the application site. However this sensation usually subsides quickly.
A clinical study involvung 200 patients with 766 verrucae demonstrated an 89.3% clearance rate within the recommended 6 treatments.
Verrutop should not be used in certain conditions or situations. It is important to consult with the podiatrist for specific guidance regarding the suitability of Verrutop in your individual case.
here are some general conditions where Verrutop may not be recommended:
*Allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients in Verrutop, Nitric Acid, Zinc, copper salts.
*Open wounds or broken skin, it is important to ensure the area being treated is intact and without any breaks in the skin.
*Immune system disorders, individuals with compromised immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS, organ transplant recipients, or undergoing immunosuppressive therap, should consult with the podiatrist before using Verrutop.
*Circulatory disorders, Verrutop should be used with caution in patients with circulatory disorders, such as peripheral artery disease or diabeyes. The reduced blood flow to the affected area may affect the effectiveness and healing process.
*Pregnancy or breastfeeding, the safety of using Verrutop during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding has not been established, so the podiatrist does not recommend Verrutop.
* Reynauds Phenomenon
* Children under 6 years old, Verrutop is licensed from 6 years old and upwards.
Yes, it is a compulsory part of the Verrutop treatment to continue to apply either Surgical Spirits or 70% sterile alcohol wipes twice daily to each verrucae or wart (morning & night) these will be provided at your first treatment, this aids the drying out effect of the Verrutop, you must NOT file or use a pumice stone before applying the surgical spirit or alcohol wipe, just continue to rub over the treated areas twice daily until your next appointment in 10-14 days time.
The coverage of Verrutop under health insurance can vary depending on your insurance provider and policy. It is advisable to check with your insurance company to determine if Verrutop is covered and if there are any specific requirements or restrictions.
some insurance plans may cover Verrutop as part of their prescription medication or dermatological treatment coverage. While others may consider it an elective or cosmetic treatment.
Verrutop is primarily intended for the treatment of verrucae and warts to the hands and feet, it work's particularly well to periungual warts (located around or under the nail area) it can also be used to treat genital warts, however podiatrists cannot treat the genital area, you would need to see a dermatologist, doctor or sexual health nurse.
Yes, It is important to follow any specIfic instructions provided by the podiatrist during verrutop treatment. This includes the following -
*Please do not bathe or shower on the day after having the Verrutop solution applied, leave 24 hours before doing so.
*when you do bathe or shower, please do not have the water too hot and do not stay in for too long.
*avoid contact with the eyes at all times.
*Keep the treated area clean and dry.
*Avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating or prolonged moisture exposure to the treated area.
