This privacy policy applies to Pod Chiropody & Laser Clinic Ltd, this includes our clinic address, 12 Cosby Road, Littlethorpe, Leicester, LE19 2HF and our website at www.podchiropody.co.uk We at Pod Chiropody take your privacy very seriously. This policy covers the collection, processing and other use of personal data under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

What We Are Doing With Your Information?

We process personal information to enable us to provide healthcare services to our patients, to maintain records, our accounts and to promote our services. We only process information relevant to this. This information may include the following:

  • Goods & services purchased from our company
  • Financial transaction details (We do NOT store your card/payment information)

Why Are We Asking You for This Information?

Please do not worry, we are not being nosy! We do need to ask you about certain things, like your medical history, as it can affect your feet. We want to give you the best possible treatment when you visit us and to do this we need you to be completely honest with us about your health and lifestyle.

We are required by law to keep records of your treatments and this information forms part of this. If you register your email or mobile phone number with us then we will send you an email or text reminder too.

Sometimes It Is Necessary to Share Some of Your Information, So Who Will We Share It With?

Primarily with you (our patient) and also with our reception service at Pod Chiropody & Laser Clinic, so that they can help you make your appointments.

If you are claiming your treatment costs back from an insurer then they may also have data shared with them to confirm your appointment details such as date and cost of treatment.

Where necessary or required, we also share information with other healthcare professionals, such as your GP, doctor, consultant or nurse, or your parent/guardian (if you are a minor, under 18 years), or your guardian if you require additional support to be able to attend your appointment with us.

When we do have to share your data, we are required to comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act (DPA) and confirm we are registered with the Information Controllers Office (ICO).

You will also given the opportunity to receive information from us about special offers or new services that we are offering. We do not share this information with any marketing companies. Your data will NEVER be sold by us for marketing purposes.

How Do We Store Your Data

Our practice went digital in December 2015 and our records are all securely stored in line with the law. Some of our data is stored outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) and these servers are all compliant with the relevant data protection laws.

Who Is Your Data Controller?

Our lead podiatrist Zoe Raj Zavery is responsible for overseeing all the clinic’s data protection. She can be contacted at the clinic or by email at enquiries@podchiropody.co.uk.

I Want to Remove My Information From Your Company, How Can I Do This?

If you contact our data controller, Zoe, then she will be happy to explain your options. As podiatrists, we are legally required to keep your medical records for a set period of time and this varies for different groups of people.

Website/Social Media Appointment Bookings, What Happens to My Data Then?

If you are contacting us through our website (www.podchiropody.co.uk) or social media pages (Facebook) then your data will be used to help answer your enquiry. Your details will only be registered with us if you, the user, then go on to register as a patient, by providing your name, date of birth, email address, home or work address and contact telephone number, therefore this information has been provided by you with your consent. Your details may be shared with our reception service, if appropriate, so they can assist with your enquiry or help with booking your appointments

Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of data while you are transmitting it to our site; any such transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your personal data, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
